I'm a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Before starting Matherson Bookkeeping, I spent two years in a public accounting firm working alongside tax preparers and auditors, which gave me a clear picture of what clean, well-organized books actually make possible.
Before that, I taught for ten years. That shapes how I work: I'm responsive, organized, and patient with questions. I'd rather help you understand your numbers than hand you a report and disappear.

Do I need to be in Chattanooga to work with you?
No. I'm based in Chattanooga, Tennessee and that's where most of my local clients are, but I work with small business owners remotely too. If you're comfortable sharing access to your books online, location isn't a barrier.
Can you help me set up QuickBooks Online, or fix books that have fallen behind?
Yes to both. I do clean QuickBooks Online setups from scratch, and I regularly take on catch-up and clean-up work when books have slipped, whether that's a few months or a longer stretch. We'll talk through where things stand on the discovery call.
Do you prepare taxes or give tax advice?
No. Matherson Bookkeeping does not prepare taxes or provide tax advice. I keep your books accurate and organized so your tax professional has what they need. For tax questions, please work with a CPA or licensed tax preparer.
